Like I’ve stated in previous posts, my wife used to be a store manager for a popular makeup company. As part of her job, she was tasked with throwing employee launch parties for new makeup collections. I loved designing and building props for these parties every year. One particular year, the theme was flowers (I […]
We LOVE Christmas! Who doesn’t?!Feeling like Clark Griswold, I’m never satisfied with the amount of Christmas lights we have each year and I’m constantly trying to add more creative elements to our outdoor décor. Well, a few years ago we visited my parents in New Mexico during the holidays. They took us to the River […]
A well-organized and visually appealing closet not only simplifies your daily routine but also adds a touch of sophistication to your personal space. With our house having split closets instead of one large master closet and after successfully remodeling my wife’s a few years prior, it was time to turn my attention to my own […]
When it comes to creating an inviting and aesthetically pleasing outdoor space, every detail matters. One element that often disrupts the harmony of our backyard oasis is the unsightly view of an HVAC condenser unit. However, with a little creativity and some do-it-yourself (DIY) skills, you can transform this eyesore into a beautiful and functional […]
Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you needed a piece of furniture but couldn’t quite find what you were looking for in stores? That was the exact predicament I found myself in when I decided to build a side table for my den. As someone who loves to decorate and add personal […]
Growing up, Super Mario Brothers was one of my all-time favorite video games. One of the most iconic elements of the game was the Piranha Plants – those pesky carnivorous plants that would pop out of the pipes and try to take down Mario. I always thought they were so cool, and when we decided to do a Mario Themed Trunk-or-Treat I knew I had to create them. That’s when I decided to make some DIY Piranha Plants!
For Halloween this year, my wife and I decided to host a Murder Mystery Dinner with some of our friends. Having attended a few mystery dinners ourselves, we opted for something similar to the CLUE movie. Along with a CLUE style game, we wanted to theme the house in an old abandoned (and slightly spooky) […]
Growing up, some of my favorite memories are of watching and later helping my dad in his garage to build various woodworking projects. He didn’t have what some may call a “professional” garage with ducted dust collection and every power tool in existence, but he did have all the basic tools needed to bring various […]
My wife and I are fortunate that our house came with two separate closets, so we each have our own space. However, the original layout of her closet left much to be desired. As with most homes, the original contractor installed the bare minimum when it came to closet shelving. The closet rods overlapped each […]
My wife, who used to be a manager for MAC Cosmetics, was tasked with throwing special product launch parties for her employees. The events were themed, based on the latest MAC product collections.
For this event, the theme was centered around baking.
One of the first projects I completed was after my wife and I moved into our first house in 2010. The house was built in 2001 but had a very 90’s feel to it, including the gas fireplace. It had a flat tile surround with a funky foam mantle and no hearth. So we did a complete remodel of the surrounding wall.
My name is Nathan and welcome to my DIY site, where I share my personal journey and experiences in completing various DIY projects from over the years. As someone who is passionate about taking on projects and learning new skills, I am excited to share my knowledge with others who share the same interests. While […]
